ART CLASS DESCRIPTION
Elevate your artistic journey with our four-week class (2 hrs weekly) "The Art of Light: Creating Glow & Mood." Designed for artists with some painting experience, this course provides an opportunity to refine your skills and delve deeper into the transformative aspects of light and color. Explore essential concepts such as "dappled light", "atmospheric effects", "reversed atmospheric effects" and the captivating glow of "golden hour lighting". Throughout the sessions, you will develop a unique palette and utilize techniques like glazing to create transparency. Engage in observational studies using reference images supplied, while working on small canvases (8”x10” and/or 9”x12”) with oil paint. Join us to expand your artistic toolbox, experiment with new ideas, and discover how to beautifully capture the mood and essence of light in your work. Let’s illuminate your creative process together! Includes: 8 hrs of guidance + all materials are supplied. Just show up and start creating! Creative Mentor: Karen Furneaux Who is this Class for? Participants should have some preliminary knowledge and experience in oil painting and know its basic principles (fat over lean and working through layers). Please Note: Art Start requires at least 3 registrants to proceed with a class/workshop or studio session. If this minimum is not met, you will be notified and offfered an alternative time slot or full refund, whichever you prefer. Cancellation Policy
Time Frame for Refunds: - Full Refund: Offered if a registrant cancels at least 1-2 weeks before the class starts. - Partial Refund: Offered for cancellations made within 3 days of the class start date (e.g., 80% refund). - No Refund: For cancellations made after the first class has started. Transfer Policy: - Registrants are permitted to transfer to another session or class if they cannot attend, depending on availability.
